The hot weather looks set to continue for the weekend and into next week - and as a result, hosepipe bans have been appearing in a few parts of the country.
Sidcup’s water supplier, Thames Water, hasn’t announced restrictions yet, but it has pumped an extra £450 million litres of water into the London water network, to meet the inevitable increased demand as temperatures rise and the hosepipes, sprinklers and paddling pools come out.
And it has appealed to customers to use water wisely during the heatwave.
